If you are not a fan of the red, black and green, then you my friend isn’t a Mogul. In fact we may have to revoke your passport and leave you stranded in lame land. For those that know, here is a nice shirt to commemorate one of the greatest groups of all time, A Tribe Called Quest. However the word on the internets is that the shirt was limited to 20, and it is only being offered in Japan. So if you live in the land of the morning sun, click here. This shirt could be all yours.

Jay-Z & Kanye West Throws A Listening Party

“Hey dog, they thought we were going to mess up all this money” – Jay-Z
Last night Kanye West and Jay-Z threw a listening party for ‘Watch The Throne’. And from the the tweets that we saw, WTT will be a classic if you let them tell it. But we will be the judge of that Aug.8 or 12th if you want the physical copy. The listening party was held at The Hayden Planetarium in NYC, and the usual entourage was there Beyonce, Kelly, Solange, Jada and everyone else on Twitter.

What Exactly Does Jarobi White, the Mysterious Fourth Member of A Tribe Called Quest, Actually Do? (Swipe)
For a long time, that’s about all the average fan knew about the fourth member of A Tribe Called Quest, the seminal hip-hop group that disbanded in 1998 and reunited in 2006 Q-Tip and Phife Dawg rapped, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad was the DJ and producer, but the exact nature of Jarobi’s contributions have always been hazy. Those who hoped that Michael Rapaport’s new documentary, Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest, would crack the riddle of Jarobi will be disappointed: As Jonah Weiner notes in his review of the film for Slate, the boisterous performer’s role, “beyond spiritual mascot, has always been unclear and remains so here.”
“I always considered Jarobi a member of A Tribe Called Quest,” Rapaport said over the phone. “If you grew up loving Tribe Called Quest, he was always a part of it.”

Here is the official trailer to A Tribe Called Quest: Beats, Rhymes & Life. The movie opens in LA and New York on July 8, with other cities added throughout the summer. It’s funny to see 4 silhouettes at the end. I wonder will they explain what happened to Jarobi?? What did he do exactly? Beatbox?
Beats, Rymes, & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest
This is one of the only movies that I am looking forward to seeing this summer. Anything with A Tribe Called Quest in it would make my day. Hopefully you Moguls will be lucky enough to have this documentary playing at a theater near you.

Michael Rapaport Speaks About ATCQ Documentary & Q-Tip
Michael Rapaport spoke with MTV to address the comments that Q-Tip made about not supporting the new documentary featuring A Tribe Called Quest.
“I think the reason he did his little Twitter thing was because when he realized that the movie was coming to completion and going to get seen by people. I can’t really speak for him but I think he got a little nervous. He’s a very protective of the legacy of A Tribe Called Quest and the movie is a very honest depiction of my time with them and the information that I was given in interviews and content. He was speaking on behalf of himself and his biggest request was to be protective of the legacy of Tribe. So when the film was coming to completion, he got a little bit nervous because he wants to be seen in a certain way.”
“I adore ATCQ and my intention wasn’t to ever make them feel uncomfortable but my intention was never to make a fluff piece so we kind of hit a bump in the road. And we promoted [the film together]. Q-Tip and me were on the radio talking about ‘This is going to be the real story of A Tribe Called Quest.’ When I say ‘the real story’ that doesn’t mean that there’s going to be crazy sh–. I didn’t unveil any secrets. From what I’ve learned Q-Tip and Phife have known each other their whole lives and they are like a family. And like any family, like any group — the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, EPMD, Public Enemy — they’ve had bumps in the road. I just think that because A Tribe Called Quest is so precious to fans, they were concerned about unveiling some of those things. Continue reading
