Burgie returns to The Lounge after a weeks hiatus and this man is burning the night candles as the final days approach as he highly is anticipating his broom jumping day. Maal Electronica pulls a Drake and goes Back to Back and slides through, he’s fresh outta his anger management therapy and Poindexter is just […]
I remember back in the day I believed that Iron Mike Tyson was the best boxer ever! He was so amazing in his knock outs that I bought a pair of boxing gloves and engaged in fisticuffs in the neighborhood with the homies down the block. Mike’s legend and mystique couldn’t be touched. He gave […]
Wally rode his Jeep like a skateboard and slid back into the Lounge like he never left! This week on The Mogul Lounge JG stops thru to discuss Dixie and its funky statues, Dave East, 2000 era MCs, and Nas’ album – is it done or nah?!?! Catch The Mogul Lounge every Monday at 8 […]
The second installment of The Summit the guys Ali, El Fatiah and Wally Kovacs discuss Jay Z’s Reasonable Doubt and Nas’ It Was Written.
I flat-out love Hip hop music, in addition I have a passion for 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and early-2000 era R&B music. I admit that at times I look at new music through squinted eyes, however I am trying to loosen up and give things a chance more recently. One thing I have seen from my generation is that […]
About a week or so ago I posted about the dumb shit rappers have said, and it got lots of hits. Thanks Moguls. But this week I will touch on things I have learned from hip hop music. As we know everything isn’t all ignorant when it comes to rap music, if it was we […]
Nas takes the subway to a concert and sees a few things that can lead to his next rhyme. I guess the Hennessy is something else.
2014 has been a big year for Mr. Nasir Jones. Without an album dropping he has remained relevant by touring and celebrating the 20th anniversary of Illmatic. Now we have the trailer to his film documenting the historic album, Time Is Illmatic, and out of everything this year this is the one thing I am […]
If you live in a cave you probably haven’t been watching the never-ending saga of Your Old Droog. Half of the industry believes he is actually Nas. Others believe he’s a white kid from Brooklyn that is nice with the bars. While the similarities are uncanny, I personally don’t think it’s Nas. I’m not going to […]
You ever wondered what that moment was like when Pete Rock found the sample for “The World Is Yours” or how initially Nas got signed? All of your questions will be answered thanks to Spotify’s “Landmark” interviews. Not only does Nas recount the making of Illmatic, but we also get to hear from original producers […]
Well what do we have here?? Your Old Droog is going to not only show his face, but he will also rap a taste. This has been one of the great mysteries of 2014, just who exactly is Droog? Many including myself swear up and down that it is Nasir Jones, while others […]
I love Illmatic as much as the next Hip Hop fan….. but do we really need an Illmatic 2? Hopefully Nas passes on this idea because in the world of rap, sequels are never as good as the originals. Ask Eminem, Jay Z, and whoever else. Well I take that back OBFCL2 was fire.
Nas chops it up with Talk Stoop on turning 40, his career, and why Hip Hop is still dead.
One of the GOAT’s of the game has turned 40. Nas who turned the big 4-0 today had a party thrown by Hennessy this past weekend in Las Vegas. During the party he caught up with Miss Info and spoke on what it is like to be 40.
Nas recently took time to visit Hennessy in Cognac, France. It seems that Life Is Good!!
Looks like Nas is rubbing elbows with Mark Zuckerberg and billionaire investor Ben Horowitz while chopping it up over lunchables. Not sure what this meeting will lead to, put I am sure it is about that money.
