Everyone’s talking about the Facebook IPO — and for good reason.

Facebook is currently valued at around $100 billion, though it made less than $4 billion in revenue last year. Still, if the social network with more than 901 million users plays its cards right, it could be the world’s first $1 trillion company by 2014.

The Facebook IPO is slated for Friday. New investors can potentially buy around 421 million shares of Facebook stock at $38 a pop.

The big question is: should you buy Facebook stock while it’s hot? Multiple financial experts told us no — at $38 per share, the stock is overpriced.

Former NYU Stern School of Business finance professor Kenneth Froewiss believes adding Facebook to a portfolio early on is risky for experienced pros and investment amateurs alike. It’s like playing the lottery, he says.

“Even for those individuals with above-average net worth, purchasing shares at an IPO, especially a ‘hot’ one that has been widely hyped, is rarely a good idea,” Froewiss says.

“Might someone on occasion reap a tremendous windfall by doing so? Yes, but then again, on occasion someone wins the lottery. That does not make the lottery a great investment in general.”

Factors that can affect Facebook stock are legion. The current excitement about the company’s stock market debut doesn’t guarantee long-term interest or success.

“In my experience this stock and its IPO has seen more enthusiasm than any other I have seen over my 40 years of investment experience,” says Lewis Altfest, Ph.D., CEO of NYC-based Altfest Personal Wealth Management.

The social network’s success or failure may lie in its ability to conquer the mobile space — which is growing faster than the company is adapting. Post-IPO, Facebook will have to ramp up its mobile ads to push profits.

Facebook reported $205 million in the first quarter of 2012 — down from December’s high of $302 million. “Revenue in the last quarter was actually off quarter-to-quarter,” Altfest says. “They have to deliver revenue growth. Over a longer period, they will have to deliver earnings.”

Altfest advises average consumers wait at least six months. He warns in the following weeks after the IPO, demand will cause stock prices to stay high, which is normal for an IPO debut. But it may eventually fall.

“Even in stocks there are laws of gravity,” he says. “Take a deep breath and come back in six months.”

Joshua Gans, professor at University at Toronto’s School of Management, advises people do nothing instead. “All of the uncertainties surrounding Facebook will not get resolved in the six months,” Gans says. “We’ll only know a decade from now whether it has a permanent place in the economy like Microsoft.”

Microsoft traded at $22 per share at its IPO in 1986. Now it’s $61 per share.

“There’s a scenario where Facebook clearly becomes the next Google or Apple, but there’s also a scenario where it simply does not and it ends up more like Yahoo,” Gans tells Mashable.

A safer alternative is buying into an index fund such as the S&P 500 instead of buying Facebook shares directly. Owners of an index fund can reap the benefits of the entire stock index doing well — without suffering sudden losses when a company’s stock tanks.

“Facebook will eventually be included in that, and it will be part of an index fund and you can buy it that way,” Gans says.

Some financial experts see Facebook as a good buy now. Lubos Pastor, finance professor at the University of Chicago, says it’s financially beneficial for investors to buy shares at IPO price. After the price of public shares rise, users have “historically earned subpar returns”, he says.

“However, the poor average post-IPO returns have been driven mostly by small firms, so it is quite possible that a large firm like Facebook will turn out to be a good investment,” Pastor says.

1. Get Yourself A Lady Who Can Cook!! Now I am not the dude that views women through stereotypical goggles, but I do feel that a woman who knows her way around the kitchen is a woman to keep. If she fills her stomach with the McDonald’s drive-thru special, she will do the same to you. Or worse, she will expect you to stop after work and waste your money on that trash. Next thing you know you’re sittin on the couch huddled up sharing a 10 pound burger with milkshake stains on your shirt.

2. Don’t Date The Chick Who Never Pays! I think the homie’s name was K-Dee who said….. Ass, Gas, or Cash, nobody rides for free. Damnit… that should be set in stone and hidden on the top of the Himalayas for the playas to find. I can’t tell you how many women I have dated who never pulled out their card to pay for shit. I couldn’t care if I had more 0′s than Hova when I roll up and my date worked as a cashier at Burger King, at some point she needs to pay. Even if it’s once out of every ten dates  and all we do is grab a 2 liter of grape soda, a bucket of chicken and head to a park bench; she needs to pay for that joint. Some type of ratio has to be established. Not only is it fair, but it shows that the lady is appreciative. Little things mean a lot.

3. Don’t Date The Chick Who Has Nothing But Time On Her Hands! I am a grown ass man you dig? I don’t have time to be pancaking  on the phone all hours of the night. Some women have nothing to do with their evenings than talk on the phone, which translates to “what are you doing? Who are you doing it with?” I have the mindset of ‘the only time we should be on the phone is to set up the next date’. I realize that at times a good phone call can be relaxing at the end of a stressful work day, but damn not every night. This is not high-school. We’re grown people doing grown things. The hours I spend on the phone whispering sweet nothings, are hours that I will never get back. And let you fool around and end a conversation with “I’ll call you back.” If you don’t hit them back that night, you will hear about it. Makes me ask, ‘were you really sitting by the phone waiting for me to call back?’ Time is money. Politely tell her to get a telemarketing job if she loves phone calls that much.

4. Don’t Date The ‘Slick Mouth Piece’ Girl- The shit may seem cute at first; the two of you going toe to toe exchanging barbs. Hell, it can even be sexy in the middle of the night. But at some point it gets stale. Next thing you know that cute little slick mouth is on exhibit at Sunday dinner with your family, or after she gets a few drinks in her she begins to “put you in your place” during happy hour. And you don’t want to have to slam the last shot and drag her out of Cheers ( not only will it land you some time in jail, usually slick mouth girls have a little brother that is waiting to wet you up!) Avoid those ladies at all cost. They are nothing more than a ‘get drunk with buddy’.

Well it looks like Pooch Hall and Tia Mowry won’t be returning to The Game for it’s 6th season. Tia Mowry recently took to the Twitters to let her fans know what the deal is.

If you built your website a few years ago it’s time for an update, if for no other reason than the fact that usage patterns have changed dramatically: The number of mobile Internet users is expected to surpass the number of desktop users in the next two to three years.

1. Make it mobile.

The shift to mobile makes it crucial for your website to be optimized for all types of devices, especially smartphones, and tablets. One approach is to create device-specific versions of your website, but a better approach is to use a new responsive design layout that works seamlessly on all platforms—both now and in the future.

2. Update your own content—regularly.

Long gone are the days of static websites. Today’s most effective websites frequently update content to give visitors a reason to come back.

And quality is just as important as quantity, so make sure your company information is up-to-date and communicate relevant details about your business through regular blog posts or updates. Frequent updates not only help better sell products and services, but also play a key role in getting higher search results.

Most importantly, make sure to use a content management system (CMS) that makes it easy for you to make your own updates. The right CMS will make managing content as easy as using a Web browser, and when you do it yourself you can make sure your personality and your brand shines through.

3. Integrate social media.

Social media is an essential tool for every business seeking to build a powerful web presence—from promoting your online brand to managing customer service issues.

Go beyond including social media buttons by adding your Twitter and Facebook feeds directly on your website so customers can stay up-to-date. Invite customers to engage by allowing them to like your products and services so they can become your biggest advocates.

You can hire a developer to integrate social media on your website, or better yet choose a tool that allows you to add and manage your own social media content on your website.

Lance fact: Lance uses Twitter several times every day to interact with his 3.5 million followers. His tweets automatically feed directly onto his website, enabling fans to discover and participate in real-time conversations.

4. Remove annoying features.

Lots of restaurants, for example, upload a PDF of their menu. That’s easy for the restaurant but a pain for site visitors. The same is true of any content that requires an application launch, especially on mobile devices.

As the site owner your experience is irrelevant; all that matters is the customer experience. Get rid of anything – anything—that could potentially irritate your visitors… or worse, drive them away.

5. Keep it simple.

The goal of most websites is to get visitors to the content they seek as quickly as possible. A simple, intuitive design is the best way to accomplish that.

Fewer page elements—which can distract visitors—keeps the focus on your website’s content and leads them to your desired outcome, whether it’s a phone call, email inquiry, or sale. Work with a web designer to clean up your site or choose a build-it-yourself website tool that offers simple design options.

Lance fact: An easily navigable layout ensures a high engagement rate and makes it easy for visitors to find what they’re looking for. For example, photos of Lance are a key component of his Web presence, so the site features high-quality images set on a simple backdrop. The photos, not the design, are what’s most important.

6. Stay in the driver’s seat.

If you do choose to hire freelancers for design or development services, make sure you choose a CMS that you understand and can update yourself. That way, if the relationship ever sours, you’re in control of your content.

And if freelancers help create content, make sure that ultimately you own that content. If you currently don’t, start creating new content to replace what you don’t own.
