G.O.A.T.’s…Greatest Bad A** Legend of Song

GOATS

Some of you Moguls may be new to the game, but back in the day (’bout 3 yrs. ago) when UML was brand new, and before we had a Million hits :-) , I used to write a piece known in these parts as G.O.A.T.’s. The title doesn’t refer to the furry little critter that lends his face to the feature, he’s since become a star in the animal world and moved on to greater things; but it refers to the oft had argument about The Greatest(s)…of All Time. If you’ve ever been in a barber shop, are a sports fan of any kind, or have an old relative that’s always telling you stories about people and fantastic feats of days gone by…then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

The topic of this feature…is none other than “Stagger” Lee Shelton. If you’re no music buff, then maybe you don’t know Llloyd Price’s 1959 #1 hit about Murder and Mayhem in a St. Louis bar. Never fear, scroll down a few lines…and be enlightened. There have been many songs over the years about legendary Bad A** cats…“Big Jim”, “I Shot The Sheriff”, and “Hey Joe” just to name a few, but the difference is…the story of “Stagger” Lee..is true. T.I. Can’t Knock Swift from #1 Spot, Lands at #2…

                                     The King is back!!!

Back on the Billboard 200 chart this week, T.I.’s “Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head” album arrives at No. 2, giving the hip-hop star his eighth top 10 effort. The new set launches with 179,000 — an improvement over the 160,000 that welcomed his last effort, 2010′s “No Mercy.” The latter title debuted at No. 4 upon its December release that year.

Personal Fav of mine is “Sorry” feat 3 stacks and “Addresses” where he gets at ATL rapper “Alley Boy” putting him in his place without mentioning his name.

In no way do i agree with the violence that transpired between these two, but every relationship has its issues, and apparently there is mad love between these two.

Mogul Gift Ideas: Ion Profile Pro USB Turntable

Ion Profile Pro Turntable

Moguls & She-Moguls…this is what technology is good for! I like this product so much…I made Santa give it to me for being so good all year long. After all…Mogul-ing is hard work. You see, my taste is a little on the nostalgic side. Nostalgic to the tune of more vinyl records than I can count. Some of the pieces I enjoy the most, I’ve purchased CDs for,but honestly, it’s just not the same. I enjoy the light crackle and hiss of a needle riding a groove. The Ion Profile Pro gave me a modern upgrade for just listening, and allows me to make an MP3 file that imports easily into my iTunes so that I can take the sounds I enjoy with me. It also takes some wear and tear off of my aging collection, and gives me the opportunity to enjoy these treasures more often than I already do. Features include:

  • EZ Vinyl/Tape Converter software guides through transfer steps
  • Connect and convert other music sources via 1/8″ aux input
  • Built-in preamp – play records on home stereo or home theatre
  • Hinged dust cover protects needle and keeps slipmat clean
  • Convert LPs to MP3s via USB connection to Mac or PC

Make the music lover/pack rat in your life happy this season ;-)

Ma$e FINALLY Released From Bad Boy Records!!!

Nowadays ya boy Murda Ma$e aka Mason Betha, has been laying low, out of the light of the fickled Hip Hop game. But recently came forward to share some news that has been well overdue for some time now!

I’ve been in that contract for 16 years,” he said, letting out that patented Ma$e giggle that fans came to love back in the late 1990s. “Yeah, the other day he let me out of it, so big shout-outs to Diddy, I guess he woke up feeling good and he wanted to do something good. Continue reading
