
Sean P Diddy Combs has certainly made his mark in Hip Hop and in the world of fashion with his popular clothing line Sean John.
From jeans and t-shirts to velour suits, Combs has banked approximately $500 million in sales to date. In 2009, he proved to be business savvy by partnering with the Home Shopping Network. During a 40-minute televised appearance, Combs earned $400,000 by selling over $5,600 units of fragrances “I Am King,” and “Unforgiveable.” In addition to his strategic business moves, Combs signed a deal with 400 Macy’s retail stores to feature his Sean John line exclusively. Currently, in addition to Sean John, Combs has partnerships with MasterCard, and Ciroc Vodka.
“We have been able, in the U.S., to break down color barriers and break down stereotypical barriers,” Combs told CNN in a recent interview. “A lot of people, if they see somebody of color, they may think, ‘Oh, it’s the baggy clothes. It’s Hip Hop clothes.’ Our line is directly the opposite. It’s pure fashion, elegant, sophisticated and fun.”
