Wonder how the “Bawse” feels about this??

Is there a G-Unit and Maybach Music Group reunion going down in the near future? It was just a few years ago when Rick Ross and 50 Cent were at each other’s necks and even though they don’t waste time dissing each other (minus the BET Hip Hop Awards), everyone knows neither have plans of sitting down and doing lunch in the near future. Too much blood spilled over for them to just shake hands now. But what about their protégés? Looks like a few key players got spotted hanging out recently. Continue reading

Shawty Lo Asks Oxygen For One More Chance…..

ATL rapper Shawty Lo is pleading his case with anyone who will listen, specifically the Oxygen network, to give his currently shelved “All My Babies’ Mamas” television special another chance.

According to Shawty Lo, people have made their assumptions simply off an extensive trailer and not seen what the show really has to offer.

“Yeah I really understand. They have the right to think that, but at least give the show a chance, to see what’s goin’ on,” Shawty said in an interview in response to the show’s backlash. “They makin’ their assumptions off a 13-minute trailer and this like the biggest news around the world right now and it’s unbelievable. … The show wasn’t about, we finna be fightin’. My show is not about no negative; it’s a positive. But if they wanna see the show, sign a petition.” (Hot 107.9) Continue reading

The Real Rick Ross, Says He’s Not Buying It…

Freeway said no one within the urban community would suggest a youngster to consider a job in law enforcement over more common employment.

“The answers by Rozay to being a correctional officer in thisRolling Stone article were BS, this is scripted to make it look like he had some struggle. No one tells you to go be a correctional officer before all the other jobs that build our community such as a Carpenter, Mechanic or Preacher. They especially wont say it when their son just got convicted for a long sentence behind unfair drug laws. They tell you get a job , and don’t do crime.” (All Hip Hop)

He also went on to ridicule the “Boss’” claim and questioned his logic.

“They don’t say “William my son is in jail for 20 years for a nonviolent offense, save yourself and go become his guard be a correctional officer.” William never sold drugs, so the whole idea he had to wash his hands is never cleared up,” Freeway added. “Why would you wash your hands for somebody else selling drugs, that you happened to know. Rozay needs to read Michelle Alexander’s book New Jim Crow to understand why that’s the case, and his real place in the crack epidemic. He also never tells us a name for this created friend. This is a disrespect to everyone who actually lived the game, people are serving 20 years all because they had to for survival and this guy is using my life and name this way.” (All Hip Hop)

Earlier this week, Ross’ Rolling Stone cover feature excerpt landed online.

For the first time, Ross talks about his past life as a corrections officer – an opportunity, he says, to “wash my hands” after his best friend was sentenced to 10 years for trafficking cocaine and heroin: “This was my best friend, who I ate peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with, and pork and beans with, my buddy, my partner, my number-one dude. Suddenly I’m talking to him over federal phone calls. Hearing the way it was building, I knew I couldn’t take nothing for granted,” says Ross. “My homey’s father was a huge influence on my life, too . . . He was the one who was like, ‘Yo, go get a job somewhere, man. Go be a fireman. Or go be a f*cking corrections officer. Just go sit down somewhere.” (Rolling Stone)

Last summer, Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel defended Ross in light of corrections officer criticism.

“I just don’t think he should have lied about it,” Sigel said in an interview. “He should have just kept it real. He had a j-o-b. He was gigging. He probably took that job to be in a position where as though he had people in there that he could look out for. My mom was a correctional officer. When I went to jail, there was n*ggas who had the will. Life. Never coming home…” (Forbez DVD)

Lil Boosie Found Not Guilty In Murder Trial…..

Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torence Hatch, has been found not guilty of murder. The jury deliberated for about an hour.

Supporters are cheering outside the 19th Judicial Courthouse in Baton Rouge. Hatch and his defense team hugged and began crying once the verdict was read.

Prosecutors said Hatch hired Michael Louding, also known as “Marlo Mike,” to kill Terry Boyd. The 35-year-old was shot to death through a window while inside his home in 2009.

Hatch is currently serving an 8-year prison term on drug charges and is being held in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

In its closing, the prosecution said the evidence speaks for itself. Prosecutor Dana Cummings said Louding admitted on interrogation tape that Hatch gave him $2,800 in $20s after the murder. She said Carvis “Donkey” Webb and Hatch worked on Louding to get him to tell the “truth.” According to Cummings, during phone calls to Louding, Webb told him, “Follow my lead and you coming home Marlo.”

She also told the jury Hatch wrote in a letter to his mother that he might have said some things that incriminate him. Cummings said the lyrics in Hatch’s songs again prove his intent. She said in the phrase “Yo Marlo” he even calls out his hit man. “That’s billboard strong,” Cummings said.

Hatch’s lawyer said detectives called Louding the “ace in the hole.” Attorney Jason Williams pointed out that’s a poker saying. He said poker is a game of deceit. He added the detective testified he’s skilled at deceit and that’s what this case is about. He told the jury to notice investigators said they preserved computers with lyrics on them for jurors to see, but police didn’t preserve 10 hours of interrogation tape for jurors to see.

“This case not about Boosie, but who’s being tried first?” Williams asked. “Not the man who says he killed six people.”

He went on to state there is no proof Hatch had beef with Terry Boyd. He said the task force that was created needs a big arrest to keep going and then asked, “What’s bigger than a rapper going down for murder?” He told the jury no one followed up on the lead Terry Boyd’s mother gave, until last year. By that time, the man she told them to talk to was dead. Officers also said they never read the Terry Boyd file, but they were investigating.

Boyd had 15 old scars on his body from bullet wounds. An old bullet was found in him. Williams posed the question, “Was someone coming back to finish what they started?” He said this all started over a letter Lee Lucas supposedly sent telling Hatch that, “Boyd was getting out of prison and he said he’s going to ‘jack and slap you.’”

“Where is that letter? Why didn’t Lee Lucas testify?” the attorney asked.

He also stated lots of lyrics were played, but prosecutors didn’t play the one that said f— Hillar Moore. “Why?” he asked.

Prosecutors were given a chance to speak to the jury one last time and finished. The judge then gave jurors instructions and they were sent to deliberate the case.

Defense attorneys for Hatch rested their case Thursday afternoon without calling any witnesses.

Attorney Jason Williams told jurors Thursday the defense was resting its case based on the fact the burden of proof lies with the state and based on the testimony of the state’s witnesses.

The prosecution had rested its case around 2:44 p.m. after six days of testimony from 27 witnesses

Actor Jermaine “Huggy” Hopkins Busted For Buying 200 Pounds Of Marijuana

It was all good just a week ago.

TMZ  reports that actor Jermaine “Huggy” Hopkins has been popped in Arizona for allegedly buying 200 pounds of marijuana from an undercover detective this week.

The actor who starred alongside Tupac in Juice and Morgan Freeman in Lean On Me was charged with two felony counts of possessing, transporting and trying to sell marijuana.

Huggy, 38,  reportedly lives in North Carolina now  but went to Arizona to make the buy.

Cops in Maricopa County say they set up the sting operation … and after Hopkins took possession of the dope, they pulled over his SUV and arrested him. Cops say they found $100k in cash in the ride.

Hopkins’ Arizona apartment was later searched where they allegedly  found an additional 100 pounds of weed.

Police say Hopkins told them he got involved in the drug deal to provide a nice Christmas for his family.

Hopkins is being held on $35,000 bond. If convicted, he faces up to 5 years in prison.

Life for Blacks in Hollywood is really ruthless that this man had to result to selling weed.

Keep ya head up Huggy.

End Of Days….Woman denied food stamps kills self, shoots children

— A woman in the border city of Laredo, Texas who was angry because she had been denied food stamps killed herself and shot and critically wounded her two children late on Monday, authorities said on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old woman entered the Texas Health and Human Services Commission office in downtown Laredo on Monday afternoon and demanded to speak to a supervisor, said investigator Joe Baeza of the Laredo Police Department.

The woman, whom he declined to identify, pulled out a handgun and started walking through the office, threatening several employees, he said.

“She had issues and felt that she had been let down by social services in general,” Baeza told Reuters on Tuesday. “She was making all sorts of outlandish claims.”

She took an office supervisor hostage in a room in the office, he said, and a SWAT team managed to evacuate the other three dozen people in the office and clear the area.

After two hours of negotiations, the woman allowed the male supervisor to go free, but she remained in the office with her two children, a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl.

“About 11:45 last night, she hung up the phone with negotiators, and a little bit later, negotiators heard three shots,” Baeza said on Tuesday. “What had happened was that she had shot each of her children once and herself once.”

The children were airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio in extremely critical condition, he said. The mother was dead at the scene, he said.

Baeza said the woman, who was from Ohio, arrived in Laredo about eight months ago and had lived with her children in several locations around the border city of 236,000.

Stephanie Goodman, a spokeswoman for the Health and Human Services Commission, confirmed that the woman applied for food stamps in July and was denied. Goodman said the woman’s application was incomplete and that she was not sure whether the woman qualified for assistance.

“We’re still trying to track down exactly what happened with the case,” she told Reuters. “As you can probably imagine, I think she had a lot of other issues she was dealing with as well.”

Baeza credited the supervisor with remaining calm and allowing officers to evacuate the other employees and members of the public who were in the building.

He had been with the state agency for 24 years and had been a supervisor since 2000, Goodman said. She said the commission will provide counseling for its workers.

“They go into this profession because they really want to help people, so when something like this happens, it’s doubly traumatic for them,” she said.

She also said the commission will look at what it needs to do to ensure its offices are safe for staff and the public. She said there was an unarmed security guard on duty on Monday at the Laredo office, where Texans can go to apply for food stamps and other programs.

“This is the kind of thing you hear of happening in other places, but not in our quiet home town,” Baeza said.
