Some of you Moguls may be new to the game, but back in the day (’bout 3 yrs. ago) when UML was brand new, and before we had a Million hits :-) , I used to write a piece known in these parts as G.O.A.T.’s. The title doesn’t refer to the furry little critter that lends his face to the feature, he’s since become a star in the animal world and moved on to greater things; but it refers to the oft had argument about The Greatest(s)…of All Time. If you’ve ever been in a barber shop, are a sports fan of any kind, or have an old relative that’s always telling you stories about people and fantastic feats of days gone by…then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

The topic of this feature…is none other than “Stagger” Lee Shelton. If you’re no music buff, then maybe you don’t know Llloyd Price’s 1959 #1 hit about Murder and Mayhem in a St. Louis bar. Never fear, scroll down a few lines…and be enlightened. I’m not sure how much you Mogul’s really understand about this whole Tax Cut/Fiscal Cliff business. I know you tend to stay up on your game, but let’s be honest, some things don’t truly sink in until they take effect. My advice…is to learn what you can, find a trusted tax professional, and discuss your financial strategy for the coming year as soon as you know the deal. When it comes to tax codes, nothing beats having a experience and knowledge on your side. If that means spending a couple bucks on the front end to eliminate surprises…then do it. In the mean time, here’s a link to a brief article about the end of the Bush era Tax Cuts. It will give you some general insight and help you begin to individualize your understanding. Where you live, what you make, how you make it…all will effect your 2013 Tax Picture.

You Can’t Eat Happiness

You can’t buy it. You can’t wear it. You can’t drive it, or drink it, or sell it, or steal it. You can’t lock it away. You can’t negotiate for it. You can’t win it, you can’t marry it, you can’t inherit it, you can’t cheat it. You can’t smoke it, or inject it, or rent it or borrow it. You can’t campaign for it or beg for it, or talk other people into giving you theirs.

You can live happiness.

You can create it. You can be it. You can give it to others. You can enjoy it. You can share it. You can claim it. You can have as much as you wish. You can enjoy it as much as you want, at any time, under any circumstance. You can work with it, play with it, worship, travel, eat, and sleep with it.

Happiness is yours to live and yours to give, if only you will. It comes from the inside, and the best way to experience it is to get it flowing out. Forget about trying and striving to get happy. Just decide to be happy, and happiness is yours.

I’m a coffee guy myself, but at one point I did indulge in enough tea to learn that it’s a very Real Science. Everything from stress to libido can be effected by the right mix of herbs and leaves. So even though I wake with a fresh cup of Joe….I make it a point to keep an intelligent selection of tea around the house. You know…just in case I stumble upon a Fresh crumpet!
