All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ Album Review

Written by on April 23, 2017

Joey Bada$$ released his latest album All-Amerikkkan Bada$$$.
Two things jumped out at me by the time I made it to track 7 (Rockabye Baby). Number 1: I would give him 5 bowties based on his subject matter and the theme being eloquently laced throughout the album. Number 2: The Tupac influence, whether intentional or not, is apparent, but it is does not take away from who he is an emcee.

So many say that young rappers don’t have bars or vision. Joey proves otherwise with his bars and overall style.

The album is well constructed. Joey does a great job with the variety of production in addition to how they’re placed throughout the album. The Schoolboy Q, Styles P and J Cole features compliment the project well and Joey was not about to be outshined as he kept the wordplay full of fury. Full disclosure…this is my lyrical double shot of espresso because I admittedly have slept on Joey Bada$$. I’m fully awake thanks to this album.

The sad part is that I feel this album is crazy dope and deserves to share the spotlight with Kung Fu Kenny’s ‘DAMN,’ but it may not. Nonetheless, this is platinum quality hip-hop so damn album sales.

#Salute to Joey on this album.
