One Year Later…….
Written by Danny P Ocean on August 16, 2015
If you have followed UML for a minute you will remember that last year your boy Danny P Ocean jumped the broom. Got hitched. Tied the knot. Hung my player jersey in the rafters. And if you know Danny P personally you know that marriage wasn’t always on my radar. I was happily living the single life, not attached to anyone or anything. My life was my own. I mean I kept money in my pocket, drove a nice car, and had a crib. I was content. I lived by the motto women come and go, so don’t fall too hard for any of them. Simple enough isn’t it? Well then I met my wife and from that moment my whole life changed.
From the first day I laid my eyes on her I knew she was the one. My nose was open and I was singing Prototype while playing a mandolin. Totally out of character. I actually began to tell a few close friends and family that I found the lady in my life. I made it my mission from that day forward to win her over. Somehow, someway. And here I am 3 years later celebrating our first anniversary of being with my Angel.
I mean who would have thunk that my life would change in oh so many ways. I now have a beautiful wife, a beautiful teenage daughter, and a beautiful new-born. The lady that I spent a year trying to win over, has fooled around and won me over. In 3 short years I went from player mode to full domestic role, and have not looked back. Because as they say space ships don’t come equipped with rear view mirrors. Zoom……….
In this first year of marriage I have learned so many things that have made me a better man. My wife has taught me how to love and chase dreams I never knew I had. I now live my life not only for myself but for her and my family. I am happy and content, and I owe it all to her.
Life is good I can truly say. I look forward to what this road of marriage has in store us. Thank you Bookie. Thank you for giving me your love, your daughter, our daughter. Thank you for insisting that I reestablish a relationship with my Dad. Thanks for everything you have done, currently do, and will continue to do. I’m excited about growing old with you and watching the grass grow.
