Apple iPhone 6 Camp Out
Written by Poindexter on September 23, 2014
Just like the previous years, one of my best friends and I camped out for the anticipated release of the latest Apple iPhone. I’d describe us as Device Connoisseurs, we can appreciate a good device no matter the operating system or manufacturer. This year we got a late start compared to previous years and this reflected in our position we had in line. My alarm went off on my iPhone 5S at 2:00 am on September 19th and I was out the house in 20 minutes, I was lead to believe this year I was camping out on my own. I arrived to my duck off location at about 2:27 am with my chair, water and iPad in hand. I noticed as I pulled up there were others that had the same plan as I did. After parking and walking up to stake my spot out, it suddenly dawned on me, damn I’m seventh in line and in the back of my head I had the rumor tumbling around about some stores not getting any iPhone 6 Plus’ in stock. Seventh place was the furthest I’ve ever been had. After staking my claim in line and about 5 to 10 minutes later I see my Road Dog decided to come out too. This year his wife is roughing out the elements to also obtain her own device. Without being to long winded we sat for roughly 5.5 hours to get our new devices. We had a ball as usual and remember the shortage I mentioned Yep they only got 8 iPhone 6 Plus’ in stock and was okay because I got mine. Ended up with a 128 GB Gold 6 Plus! I will also mention that the people that arrived ahead of us began to stake their claim at 6:30 pm, 8:00pm and 11:30 pm on September 18th. All I can say is well you deserved to be 1st thru 6th in line. Well until next year enjoy the few stake out pics I snapped while sleeping in line. I just might preordered next year or see if we can do it big and get a DJ tent and food.
