What’s All the Commotion?

That time of year has come and gone, that would be the revealing of the new iPhone. Apple is on it’s 6th installment of the series. To my knowledge iPhone users are the only group that camp out all over the world for the first day release of the device. Some call it crazy, I call it passionate. Hey it works for the users and manufacturer so who cares what the naysayers think or say. Well enough with that!
So Apple released two devices this year the iPhone 6 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch versions. You can pre-order the device starting September 12th at 8am on Apple’s website and in store purchases September 19th at 8am. I’m going to start off like this! Will I get the device? Most definitely! Am I blown away by the iPhone 6? Not exactly.
I’m going to start out by saying there’s no phone right now on the market that just floors me. We have 3 capacity options 16GB($299), 64GB($399) and 128GB($499). I’ve decided to go with the 5.5 inch 64GB version, after using a Android run device for 2 to 3 weeks I did appreciate having a larger screen. What has Apple given us this time? They’ve thinned and rounded out the device. The power button has been moved to the right side of the iPhone and the camera now protrudes in the rear. Improvements to the resolution, a faster processor, iSight camera upgrades for video recording and FaceTime. There’s now a feature called Apply Pay that will allow you to use the iPhone to pay in stores and in apps with the Touch ID. I think we’ll finally see NFC take off now that Apple has included it. For those that may not understand the technology, basically allows you to use your credit/debit card attached to your iPhone. Apple wasn’t the first to include the feature but I truly believe the feature will now be mainstream. Users of other platforms may disagree but now the feature has been validated and we will see it used a lot more moving forward. I’m really digging the VoLTE(voice over LTE) or data. I have kids that like to use there devices so where I can cutback I will!
Again I’m not floored but I’m excited to get my new iPhone in my hands to use it and yes I camp out. It’s a ritual now that I do with one of my best friends.
