Lil Wayne Claims He Never Listened To Watch The Throne

Written by on October 27, 2011

“We don’t believe you, you need more people!”

Watch The Throne was the event of the summer. Hate it, like it, or love it everyone had something to say about it. So it just strikes me as odd that Lil Wayne claimed that he did not listen to it. Really Wayne? My Grandpops had an opinion on Watch The Throne and he is dead!! You weren’t sitting by your computer waiting for the midnight release?

I haven’t heard the album. I’ll probably never hear the album.

Yeah I understand that you ain’t feeling Jay-Z right now, that is cool. But to sit up there and say you haven’t listened to the album yet is “Cray”!! Unless the interview was done 2 days before Watch The Throne was released, I will have to call you a tattoo faced liar!!

I mean big deal. So what Wayne said he ain’t heard the album. Please don’t make the mistake of thinking everybody’s hanging onto Jay and Ye’s coattails. Truth be told, the album isn’t too popular down south like some might expect. Truth is, I just found out about it about a week ago. Real niggaz in the street is tired of this satanic new world order music being put out 2day and that goes 4 the east & west coast, down south & mid-west. So yea, I’ve yet 2 hear the album either so believe that.

Find it hard to believe that a rapper someone who gets paid to flow has not heard the competitions music. I know at some point someone in his circle played the album. I know damn well. He heard enough of HAM that he had to respond. And that wasn’t the only song Lil Weezy heard. Now that is Real Talk!!

So you really think that these rappers have the time & yet along the want to sit down & listen to everybody’s album just to examine how good or bad it is? dUDE please. It ain’t that serious. Naturally if a diss is aimed at an artist then eventually it will be made known to them, but to make it seem like listening to Jay’s album is on the todo is naive & unrealistic. Just because the public is all “ooh” & “ahh” behind new albums doesn’t mean the feeling is the same for those in the business. I find it hard to believe that you really think its just about the rap. Look beneath the surface & dig a lil deeper!

I am not saying that Lil Wayne scheduled a listening party and invited his closet friends to smoke and drink while the album played. But at some point he heard some of the songs. Even Birdman back in Aug stated that he heard some of the album and called it old people hip hop for lack of better words. So with that being said I still don’t believe that Weezy has not heard ANY of the album. If Birdman took a minute to check some of it out, Wayne did also.
Of course I don’t believe that rappers listen to EVERYTHING that comes out these days. Not enough time. But I will say that certain rappers have certain dudes on they radar and they check for them to see what they dropping. Just like Jay-Z most likely heard Tha Carter IV. May not admit it, but he heard some of it.
And wasn’t Lil Wayne calling Jay-Z his favorite rapper a year or two ago? You honestly don’t think he lost that much interest do you?

Weezy not checkin for ‘Watch The Throne’ would be like Belichick not watchin’ Pittsburgh’s game film. It may not be his first priority, but understanding the perception of the fan’s and the industry is. And understanding how an album like “W.T.T.” was received is important…it’s a BUSINESS man!

What ya think??
