Nike Is Set To Release The Back To The Future Kicks
Written by Danny P Ocean on September 8, 2011
All shoe heads remember first seeing these in the Michael J Fox flick Back To The Future II. Now after all these years and countless online petitions the shoes will finally be available. Well sort of, to a few lucky individuals. Nike will release 1,500 pairs of the Nike MAG. Each pair of the shoes will be auctioned online on ebay.
All net proceeds from the sneaker’s sales being donated to the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research to help eradicate an illness that has severely affected the lives of Fox and many across the world. The sneaker aesthetically is virtually identical to the one worn by Michael J. Fox and his Marty McFly character circa 2015. For this 2011 Nike MAG release, a glowing LED is seen in the heel with an electroluminiscent Nike logo in the strap. The illumination can be achieved via “a pinch of the ‘ear’ of the high top” with an estimated glow time of five hours per charge. A first lot of 150 pairs of will be made available via a 10-day auction through eBay’s Fashion Vault. A start is slated for September 8, 2011 at 8:30 pm PST.
How many of you will try to scope a pair?
