T.I. Reportedly Pulls Himself Out Of Virgin Mobile FreeFest Over Legal Issues…
Written by Urban Mogul Life on September 28, 2010
It is confirmed that rapper T.I. has been removed from the roster of acts to perform at Virgin Mobile’s FreeFest in Columbia, Maryland. This is the second high-profile event the Atlanta rap star will fail to make an appearance at this month, due to his arrest in Los Angeles earlier this month for drug possession.
On September 1st, T.I. alongside wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were caught by officials in possession of ecstasy, and both face charges for possession of a controlled substance, with the possibility of a year in prison. A mere six months after serving a year in low-security prison, T.I. may face up to three years in prison if a judge decides he has violated his probation.
It is reported that Atlanta rapper Ludacris will replace T.I.’s during the festival, performing with acts such as M.I.A., Thievery Corporation, Jimmy Eat World, LCD Soundsystem, and Pavement. Thousands of tickets to attend the event have been given away, while “Good Karma” tickets are available for $30, benefiting charity.
The Virgin Mobile FreeFest takes place today, at Merriweather Post Pavillion, Colombia, Maryland, from 11:00am – 10:00PM.
