Ice Cube Cyphers W/Rev Run

A few days ago BET released info on the participants of it’s annual cypher. And even though the majority of the names didn’t really hip my hop, the Cube x Run X Sons did peak my interest. I wonder what type of flow will be kicked by these kin folk? And something is telling me that Diggy may outshine them all. Cube had a few things to say about the cypher in  his latest blog entry.

What up fam?

Last night I stood on a roof in Brooklyn wit my 2 sons (OMG & Doughboy) and the “King of Rock” Rev. Run wit his 2 sons (Diggy & Jo Jo) and we did the BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher. We killed it. Me and Run had 16 bars and our boys had 8 bars a piece. We had DJ Premier on the wheels and it was a beautiful night.

Ya’ll don’t understand. I was a straight fan last night. I grew up on Run-DMC and having a chance to do a cypher wit the legendary DJ Run was a bucket list moment for ya’ boy. It was all love of course and we talked about a line he said in ’83 that set it all off, “If you say you heard my rhymes we’re gonna have to fight, Cause I just made the mothafuckas up last night!” Now that’s hip-hop.
