For Real John Madden? No Defense??

I am a little more pissed these days than usual. I waited, anticipated, and craved for this game just like I usually do; but something was different this year. I didn’t reserve the game this time around, and I didn’t rush out the midnight madness either; I waited. I didn’t rack the internet for exclusive clips or check to see what store would sell me the game early. Nope, I waited. I didn’t read any advance reviews to see what the critics thought or what the forums chatted about the game, I waited. And from the looks of it, I should have waited a little longer. Madden 2011 is trash!!

Just to say those words makes me feel, foreign to my own body for I am Madden. I have been down with this beautiful game since Sega genesis, rolling with my Packers the whole way. I have seen it from Sega to the PS3, never missing a year! Buying it faithfully as if it were a pair of Jordans. I longed for the Madden holiday. I remember even calling in to play the game opening day. Wow, those were the good ole days. Times have changed! WTF EA Sports?? WTF!!!

It’s not like the game is bad Moguls, that is if you like high scoring football games that resemble a college basketball score. But I like my video game football just a little more realistic. I love Aaron Rodgers, but he shouldn’t be tossing up 700 yard games like it ain’t shit. That’s not real. Ryan Grant shouldn’t look like a mixture of Jim Brown, Walter Payton, and Henry the Green Engine. At times he looks like a bull running through a playground filled with 4 year olds!

And we are not going to talk about the lack of defense in this years version of Madden. But should I have to talk about it? With scores in the 70′s you know no defense is being played. As a matter of fact the defense is probably on the sidelines listening to disco with platform shoes on. I mean it is the 70′s right?

Memo to EA, look at how far your beloved Live franchise has fallen, do you want the same for Madden? If you keep giving us beta versions of the unfinished game you will get that as soon as your exclusive contract with the NFL runs out. Is there a way for me to just pay for a roster update and pull back out my Madden 10?
