Boy How I Miss The Old Days

I am old school, similar to Little House on the Prairie one room school old. So when it comes to the NBA Playoffs, I like to see that battle till you die gladiator basketball. We all remember Jordan’s Bulls getting pimp slapped around the court by the Bad Boys. (To this day I STILL CAN’T STAND THE PISTONS!) Scottie getting chin checked by Rodman. Ahhhhh! The good old games. That type of blood, sweat, and tears made it all the better when the Bulls finally swept the Pistons right out of the NBA and Isiah and crew were caught running off the court. It was the game, and hard fouls were a part of it especially once the playoffs begun. So this current state of the NBA sometimes has me shaking my head.

I saw the game Saturday when KG got caught in a little skirmish with Quentin Richardson that could have escalated to something worse, but cooler heads kept the fools in check. David Stern and his boys should have handed out the fines like they did, a KG deserved to get ejected since it was his second tech, but to call for a one-game suspension is a bit overboard. This is the playoffs, emotions will get a little ampped up. Players will begin to show their feelings, but that is what we like to see. Passion and heart is what brings championships. Not emotionless movements. Should KG have let Richardson talk reckless to Pierce as he laid on the floor?

To the big wigs behind the curtain in the NBA kingdom, please let the players play. Let the best team win without the use of suspensions. The last few years I have seen enough of the questionable calls, no calls, suspensions, non-suspensions to make me give you guys the side eye. I enjoy the game of basketball too much not to watch, but….. Let the players play! Don’t start getting shady already, we have a lot of basketball left to play.
