It is good to see that Dame Dash did not fall by the wayside. He could have easily ran to his crib and curled up afte rthe break-up of Rocafella. And in fact it seems like he did after a few of his projects failed. But with the formation of Blacroc, Dame seemed to have got his swag back. Dame created a creative space, DD172, where he assembled a list of artist to help with his vision. The network founded by Chike Ozah, Coodie Simmons and Damon Dash will be a repository for premium and original web content covering music, fashion lifestyle and entertainment. One of the many series premiering on Creative Control will be SkiBeatz profiling the world-famous producer Ski, the man behind such Classics as Jay-Z’s reasonable Doubt and Camp Lo’s Uptown Saturday Night. The weekly program will profile the beatsmith as he ventures into new projects with notable artists such as Jay Electronica, Curren$y, Mos Def and emerging rock group Voodoo Farm. Dame seems to have jumped out of the rat race and has focused on making meaningful projects as opposed to the same ole, same ole that the industry is putting out.
